Christopher Yang is no stranger to these things, and with a proven track record of innovation in the technology and project management sphere, he knows firsthand the importance that strategic leadership can play in the success of any organization. As the Vice President of Engineering at Corporate Travel Management (ASX: CTD), he is responsible for 50 highly-skilled technical staff members and deeply involved with technology both internally and externally to develop, maintain, and enhance products.

In every facet of his professional life, Chris has been involved in just about every aspect of technology management. He has proven his ability to see all products and projects through to their successful fruition. He also possesses a strong understanding of software development, project and portfolio management, team building, and change management and is an expert at influencing change by analyzing business needs, working with cross-functional teams, and building effective relationships. His reputation for meeting organizational objectives and exceeding productivity and revenue goals is second to none, and he does all of this with a smile on his face and a fire in his heart.

Starting out at DirectTV, Christopher launched into his professional career as a Senior Staff Engineer in Software Engineering. After three years in this position, he proved himself as a valuable asset to the team and was promoted to Technical Lead and Technical Program Manager – Software Engineering, providing leadership and expertise, effectively guiding seventeen developers in research and development. In 2015, he moved on to Ticketmaster where he worked as the Senior Manager – E-Commerce Project Management. In this role, he leveraged his e-commerce expertise to deliver technical leadership for concurrent projects across all phases of development.

After gaining valuable experience in project management and leadership, Christopher Yang served as Director – Project Management and Head of PMO at Onestop Internet. Here, he delivered twelve new e-commerce site launches within a span of only eighteen months. Unprecedented? Yes. But not at all strange to those familiar with Christopher’s work ethic. These launches also occurred while he was effectively managing budget and quality standards and changing priorities and business needs.

After two years at Onestop, Chris took his professional career to the next level as he moved into the position of Senior Director – Loyalty Technology and then quickly into the role of Vice President – Loyalty & Leisure Technology at Corporate Travel Management. Within a year, Christopher was promoted to Vice President – Engineering, where he oversees a technical staff of 50 members.

In addition to his career, Christopher Yang is a Part-Time Instructor in the Department of Engineering and Technology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA Extension). Here, he develops and delivers post-baccalaureate curriculums, spearheading the development of UCLA Extension’s first agile project management certificate program. In addition to his teaching, Christopher Yang loves continuing to hone his communication skills as a sought-after keynote speaker. He enjoys working on this passion as he provides lectures on technology and project management to help train the future generation of leaders.

A true lover of education, Christopher thrives on training future generations in the importance of leadership, technology, and project management. Armed with the wisdom and knowledge gained throughout his time at the University of Southern California, Christopher holds four degrees – MBA, Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Master of Science in Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Computer Science.

Christopher also has a wealth of key certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC), Certified Product Manager (CPM), Professional Agile Leadership (PAL I) and ITIL.
